As a true freshman, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa had Brian Daboll as his offensive coordinator. Last season, that position was filled by Mike Locksley.

Now, as he prepares for his junior season, Tagovailoa is working with his third offensive coordinator — Steve Sarkisian.

During a spring media session on Monday, Tagovailoa discussed Sark’s return to Tuscaloosa, saying his relationship with the new OC goes back to Sarkisian’s time at USC (via 247Sports):

“It was really good (to see him),” Tagovailoa said. “He offered me while he was at USC, and USC was my dream school, too. I’ll be forever grateful for that. But just the person he is, he’s a good guy. He’s a relationship person in the quarterback room with not only me but everyone in there.

“It’s a real easy learning environment.”

Sarkisian spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, but now he’s returning to Tuscaloosa, where he spent the 2016 season and took over as the offensive coordinator for the national title game.

How will he fare this year? A lot of that will depend on how well Tagovailoa plays after a near-Heisman season in 2018.
