Tua Tagovailoa placed on injured reserve following concussion
Tua Tagovailoa has been placed on injured reserve and miss at least the next 4 games as he recovers from a concussion he suffered in Week 2, according to a report.
That news was shared by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday afternoon. Tagovailoa has dealt with concussion issues throughout his career and is now facing another stretch away from the game.

Earlier this week, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Tagovailoa has “no plans” to retire despite these lingering concussion issues. He missed several games during the 2022 season due to concussions, but was able to play in every game last season.
Rapoport said Tagovailoa has already begun the process of meeting with medical experts as he determines next steps.
In the aftermath of his latest injury, numerous people have expressed their support for Tagovailoa and concern for his future in the game. Nick Saban and Manti Te’o are amongst those in Tagovailoa’s life who have commented on his future since he collided with Bills safety Damar Hamlin on Thursday Night Football.
With Tagovailoa sidelined, the Dolphins are expected to turn to Skylar Thompson as their starting quarterback for the foreseeable future. The earliest Tagovailoa could return to the field is Miami’s Oct. 27 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
