Following a long recruitment that featured scholarship offers from nearly every college football program of significance, the nation’s highest-ranked uncommitted quarterback prospect in the 2022 recruiting class is finally ready to announce his college commitment.

After initially planning on announcing his college of choice last week, snow in west Tennessee delayed his ceremony, five-star quarterback Ty Simpson is ready to inform the world where he plans on playing his college football.

During a Friday ceremony at his Westview High School in Martin, Tenn., five-star prospect Ty Simpson announced his commitment to Alabama.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Simpson made his pick over finalists Clemson, Ole Miss and Tennessee.

The son of a college head coach, Jason Simpson is the head coach at the University of Tennessee-Martin, the five-star prospect’s football IQ is as renowned as his accolades on the field. He’s said in interviews he’s enjoyed the recruiting process simply to pick the brains of the elite head coaches and offensive coordinators college football has to offer.

That should tell you something about the quarterback that just announced his college decision.

Formerly rated as a dual-threat passer, Simpson is now rated as a five-star pro-style passer and the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Last season, Simpson passed for 1,888 yards with 20 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He also rushed for 311 yards and four more scores.

Here is a glimpse at what Simpson brings to the next level as he’s been dominant for Westview in recent seasons.
