The bombastic Stephen A. Smith rarely fails to give his take on the biggest and hottest stories in sports. On Tuesday’s edition of his ESPN show First Take, Smith took on the Nick Saban versus Jim Harbaugh topic.

Smith gave his thoughts when tasked with the answering the question of who would he rather play for Saban or Harbaugh?

If having fun was his main motivation, Smith said he’d play for Harbaugh; but if winning was what drove him, his answer was obvious – it’s Nick Saban all the way.

The two coaches have yet to meet on the field in their coaching careers but Saban clearly has the edge in college achievements with five national championships (compared to zero for Harbaugh) and a career record of 191-60-1 (.760) (compared to 68-30 (.694) for Harbaugh).

Although the Michigan coach did have a more successful NFL career, going 49-22-1 (.688) (compared to 15-17 (.469) for Saban) and going to three NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl. Saban never even got Miami to the playoffs under his two-year stint with the Dolphins.
