Former Alabama RB Josh Jacobs was a first-round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders and figures to be featured in the organization’s plans in the coming years.
But as he adjusts to life in the NFL, Jacobs is set to be featured on the next episode of HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ on Tuesday night.
The preview clip of the episode focuses on the team’s recent practices with the Los Angeles Rams.
Jacobs is one of several rookies listed as a starter on the recently released Oakland depth chart. The coaching staff is openly preparing Jacobs for the regular season and limiting his preseason action. For example, he didn’t play in Saturday’s game against the Rams.
Jesse Merrick of the NBC affiliate in Las Vegas reported that coach Jon Gruden admitted to as much after the game. Jacobs got a lot of work in the joint practices with the Rams, and that should show up in this next ‘Hard Knocks’ episode.
On this week’s #HardKnocks, preseason action begins and it’s time for rookies to make their mark.
Tune in tomorrow night at 10 PM ET/PT on @HBO. pic.twitter.com/s5UuB65jeN— NFL Films (@NFLFilms) August 12, 2019
Gruden says Josh Jacobs didn’t play tonight because he had a lot of work in the joint practices with the Rams and that he wanted to see DeAndre Washington play a lot tonight…mentions we may see him next week
