Alabama QB Jalen Hurts is having a strong year, but he has yet to gain a lot of attention in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy.

The Crimson Tide are 7-0 this season, and Hurts is a big reason why. The sophomore has thrown for 1,025 yards and 8 TDs while adding 558 yards rushing and 6 TDs. Alabama’s RBs may steal the show, but Hurts leads the team in rushing attempts (79) and is second in rushing yards behind Damien Harris.

Hurts is a true dual-threat QB who has done a nice job on limiting turnovers. He threw his first interception of the season against Arkansas, and his ability to take care of the ball is impressive.

Tommy Tuberville was recently asked about Hurts and his case for the Heisman trophy, and Tuberville believes the Tide QB should get more attention. Tuberville admitted that he had left Hurts off of his top four list so far this season, but Tuberville’s other picks have faltered so far.

Tuberville believes Hurts may be the top candidate in the nation when you consider the fact that he just continues to win games, but he did admit that Hurts does not light up the stat sheet with incredible passing numbers.
