After a rather “off” first half against The Citadel, Alabama is back to doing Alabama things. That includes Tua Tagovailoa tossing touchdown passes.
In the third quarter, Tagovailoa found TE Irv Smith Jr. for a 68-yard scoring play. It was Tagovailoa’s 31st touchdown pass on the season, a new Alabama single-season record.
WATCH: #Alabama jr. TE @swervinirvin_ continues to be a HUGE weapon this season, weaving his way through traffic on this 68-yard TD pass from soph. QB @Tuaamann, which is his 31st of the season to set a new single-season program mark. pic.twitter.com/eh6FZTXeFY

Tagovailoa breaks the previous record of 30 set by AJ McCarron in 2012 (14 games). With the Iron Bowl, SEC Championship Game and one or two bowl games ahead for Tagovailoa, he may put the record virtually out of reach for future Tide signal-callers.
In the fourth quarter, Alabama leads The Citadel 37-10.
