Alabama is no stranger to bringing in touted freshmen into Nick Saban’s program.

The Crimson Tide annually sign one of the best recruiting classes in the nation but, for the most part, the majority of the first-year players entering the program don’t generate buzz right away given how deep the roster is in Tuscaloosa.

However, there have been a number of players over the years that have proven to be too good to leave off the field. Based on all the reports out of Tuscaloosa during Alabama’s current camp, it sounds like freshman linebacker Will Anderson is poised to be the next star defender to play for Saban.

Based on what defensive lineman DJ Dale recently had to say about the freshman defender, the buzz is only going to continue to grow surrounding Anderson.

“Will, he’s just a guy that came in and you could just tell he’s got it,” Dale said Thursday during his media availability. “His confidence, he’s just so willing to learn. He listens. He’s a great player. He came in with it.”

Alabama’s defense has a need for some edge rushers to step up and perform this fall following some offseason departures.

If you were to ask Dale which player is going to rise to the occasion, it’s a safe bet his money is on Anderson to be that guy.
