McKinney committed to the Tide last September, but was still taking visits with other programs. The Georgia native ranks as the No. 11 safety and No. 108 overall player for the 2017 national recruiting class.

McKinney took an unofficial visit to Georgia on Feb. 18. Aside from being the in-state favorite, the Bulldogs have a new head coach in Kirby Smart, who was on Alabama’s staff as a defensive coordinator when McKinney committed last September.
