Yeldon to play, but Alabama still shorthanded against Mississippi State
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Although he looked uncomfortable and had both ankles heavily taped, University of Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon participated in warm-ups and looked ready to play against No. 1 Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon.
Coach Nick Saban had told ESPN earlier Saturday that he would be a game-time decision.
Yeldon sustained a right ankle/foot injury against Tennessee on Oct. 25, which caused him to be limited during the bye week and practices for LSU last Saturday. However, he appeared to sustain another injury in the final minutes against the Tigers.
Yeldon has 135 carries or 686 yards this season, averaging 5.1 yards per carry and 76.2 per game. He also has 12 receptions for 151 yards.
However, Alabama appeared to still be shorthanded as Altee Tenpenny did not participate in warmups. Tyren Jones was the third-string running back.
