After three seasons at Arkansas, Razorback running back Chase Hayden is looking to finish his career elsewhere.

Hayden tweeted Wednesday that he will “enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer.”

“I would like to thank Coach Pittman and University of Arkansas for the opportunity of being part of the football program, but I have decided it is best that I pursue my two years of eligibility elsewhere and enter the transfer portal as a grad transfer,” Hayden wrote in a note posted to his Twitter account.

Entering the transfer portal does not mean Hayden has to transfer. In fact, he entered his name into the transfer portal after the 2018 season, but withdrew and remained with the team. His note, however, certainly indicates he is set on transferring this time.

A class of 2017 signee, Hayden played for both Bret Bielema and Chad Morris. As a recruit, the Tennessee native was rated the No. 4 all-purpose back in the class on the 247Sports Composite.

At UA, Hayden played in 23 games over the past three seasons. In the 2019 season, he played in four games and redshirted, giving him two remaining years of eligibility as referenced in his announcement. As a graduate transfer, he will be able to play this fall. In his Razorback career, Hayden logged 130 carries for 616 yards and 5 touchdowns along with 16 catches for 96 yards.
