Eric Musselman and Arkansas are busy, busy, busy in the transfer portal right now. The Razorbacks have already added commitments from 4 players out of the portal: Washington’s Keyon Menifield, Houston’s Tramon Mark, Temple’s Khalif Battle and Cincinnati’s Jeremiah Davenport.

Got room for one more? 247Sports’ Travis Branham made a prediction for former Louisville guard El Ellis to join an already uber-impressive group of transfers at Arkansas on Sunday.

Ellis declared for the NBA Draft at the end of last season following perhaps the worst season in program history. He was the one bright spot on the team though, averaging 17.7 points, 4.4 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game in 2022-23.

Obviously this move is not official, more like “trending in that direction.” Crystal balls by industry leaders are usually fairly reliable, but this is almost an unbelievable development.

Adding 5 transfers is not unfounded in college basketball today – especially when considering how much production Arkansas will lose – but all 4 the Razorbacks have added so far are guards or have experience at guard, though Davenport is primarily a 3 or 4. El Ellis, on the other hand, is a true point guard.

Impressive is the first word that comes to mind. Should Ellis truly land in Fayetteville, there’s no telling the hype for Arkansas heading into next season.
