Keyon Menifield Jr. announced Tuesday that he would be taking his talents to Fayetteville to play under Eric Musselman with Arkansas next season. The former Washington guard entered the transfer portal in late March after just 1 season in Seattle.

Menifield dropped a top 6 including 2 other SEC programs this past week: Alabama and Tennessee, as well as Louisville, Ohio State and a potential return to Washington.

Menifield earned Pac-12 All-Freshman honors with the Huskies and is a strong playmaker. He averaged 10 points and just over 3 assists with Washington his freshman year and is only going to get better as his experience in college grows. He played with the best of the Pac-12, so any Arkansas fan should be excited about this prospect.

And he’s a good fit for an Arkansas squad looking to regroup after making yet another trip to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Ricky Council announced Tuesday that he would be entering the NBA Draft, and Nick Smith declared at the end of March. Trevon Brazile is set to return next season, as could Devo Davis and Jordan Walsh. It’s early, but next year’s roster is already starting to slowly take shape.
