Arkansas has reached across the SEC to fill an opening on its defensive staff.
Deron Wilson, a cornerbacks analyst at Florida, will be a secondary coach for the Razorbacks, Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported. Wilson before Florida spent the previous 2 seasons as the defensive coordinator at McNeese State University (2020-21). He also worked at UTSA from 2016-20 and served as a graduate assistant (2016-18) before being promoted to a cornerback coach (2019-20).
Wilson played defensive back at Southern Miss from 2009-12 and was part of secondary that broke the NCAA record for interceptions returned for touchdowns with 8 and won the C-USA Championship during the 2011 season.
Arkansas’ new co-defensive coordinator, Marcus Woodson, previously coached Florida State’s defensive backs and defensive passing game coordinator.
