The Arkansas Razorbacks had Feleipe Franks as their primary quarterback in 2020, although backup KJ Jefferson did get some action.

Now, entering 2021, it is Jefferson’s time to shine, and his performance will have a big impact on how the Razorbacks fare this fall.

On Thursday, coach Sam Pittman confirmed to 247Sports that Jefferson enters fall camp as QB1. Then, star WR Treylon Burks backed that up, saying he’s supremely confident in Jefferson’s ability:

“Honestly with that, I’m 100 percent confident in KJ,” Burks said. “That’s my boy. We’re basically like blood. For him to come in in the Missouri game and show us what we could do, that showed a lot to us. I know it showed the defense and the offense that he’s capable of leading this team. I’m 100 percent confident in him.”

It’s no surprise Burks is confident in Jefferson. When Jefferson started against Mizzou in 2020 while Franks was injured, Burks had 10 catches for 206 yards and a touchdown.

We’ll see if that chemistry continues into the 2021 campaign.
