Former Arkansas standout signs with the Dallas Cowboys
Former Arkansas standout Jason Peters has been signed by the Dallas Cowboys, per multiple reports.
The 40-year-old offensive tackle will begin the season on Dallas’ practice squad as he works his way into playing condition.
The Cowboys have agreed to a deal with Jason Peters that will have the veteran offensive tackle on the practice squad, according to source. This allows Peters, 40, to ease into work after not going to a training camp.

Peters was undrafted out of Arkansas after his playing career finished but he signed with the Buffalo Bills in April of 2004 and has put together an impressive career.
Peters has played in 228 career games, starting 218, with the Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and Chicago Bears, and he has been a nine-time Pro Bowl selection.
Interestingly enough, Peters played tight end for the Razorbacks, for whom he caught 27 passes for 288 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was a tight end and special teams player for his first 2 years in the NFL before moving to the offensive line.
On Monday, Peters said he was excited about his new situation in Dallas and looking forward to helping the Cowboys and mentoring first-round pick Tyler Smith in any way he can.
“I’m gonna help him out — on and off the field — his technique and rhythm.”

Expect Peters to be ready “in a couple weeks”, and he’ll do “whatever they need”. Open to LT2, will help rookie. pic.twitter.com/um1YaNVqbf
