Jeremy Sprinkle spent half of last season on the Dallas Cowboys active roster, but the team cut him Friday after the tight struggled with an Achilles injury throughout camp.

Sprinkle, 28, was a fifth-round pick (154th overall) for the Washington Redskins in 2017. He spent four years in Washington, mostly working as a blocking tight end, but he had 26 catches for 241 yards and a touchdown in 2019.

After playing his contract out in Washngton, Sprinkle signed with Dallas in 2021 and was placed on the practice squad to start the season. He was moved to the active roster last October.

Sprinkle, listed a 6-foot-5, 257 pounds, committed to Arkansas from White Hall High School in White Hall, Arkansas. He played behind Hunter Henry and A.J. Derby in his first two years as a Razorback before moving into a starting roll.

He had 71 catches for 921 yards and 11 touchdowns at Arkansas.
