When Arkansas decided to fire Chad Morris, one name that was immediately brought to the attention of AD Hunter Yurachek was Georgia offensive line coach Sam Pittman.

While Pittman may not have been the initial coach Yuracheck pursued, those that pushed the assistant coach for the job proved to know exactly what they were talking about as the first-year head coach has already done an outstanding job building a coaching staff around him and proving his value to the Razorback program in recruiting.

In a recent appearance on “The Hog Pod,” former Arkansas lineman and current Detroit Lion Frank Ragnow shared a great story that paints the picture of just how far Pittman goes during the recruitment process to build life-long relationships with the parents of prospects.

“We’re bored here in this quarantine, we’ve just we found — I keep all my college letters — Coach Pittman would write my mom and dad, every day,” Ragnow shared in the clip below. “Like literally letters every day just talking like an update, update, update. He wrote so many letters to my mom and dad, it’s ridiculous. My mom has got a whole container open a room just full of letters from Arkansas no other schools did that.”
