Brandon Allen of Arkansas doesn’t get to play against a cupcake this week. Instead, he and the Razorbacks are facing the Ole Miss defense that has been stout all season long.

We all know that Arkansas wants to run the ball and run it all game. I see Ole Miss stacking the line of scrimmage and putting the game squarely on Brandon Allen’s shoulders.

Allen has the arm talent to get it done and make all the throws. I just don’t know if they have that many passing plays in the playbook. If Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams get shut down all game, Allen will have to make the plays with his arm if the Razorbacks have any hope of being competitive in this game.

Arkansas finally got a taste of SEC blood after last week’s shutout win against LSU, so it definitely has momentum on its side. However, the Ole Miss offense is light years better than LSU’s. The Ole Miss defense is also better.

Arkansas is one of the better teams nobody is talking about. Yes, they did get mollywhopped by Georgia, but they’ve been in just about every single game this season. The Razorbacks are really just a few plays away from beating some of the best teams in the SEC, including Allen interceptions late in the game against Alabama and Mississippi State.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Ole Miss is going to stack that box and force Allen to beat them with his arm. While he possess the ability to do that, it has yet to be seen. So for that fact alone, I’m going with Allen as the quarterback with the toughest task this weekend.
