Going home: Late run from Texas Tech causes Arkansas to be eliminated from College World Series

After losing the championship series in heartbreaking fashion last season, Omaha wasn’t too kind to the Arkansas Razorbacks this time around, either.

The Hogs fell 1-0 to Florida State in their College World Series opener on Saturday, and on Monday, an eighth-inning run scored by Texas Tech eliminated the Razorbacks via a 5-4 loss.

A triple in the bottom of the eighth inning broke a 4-4 tie, and you can see that hit here:

The Hogs got two runners on in the top of the ninth, but couldn’t push the tying run across the plate, and ended up losing.

That’s two losses, after the Hogs lost to Florida State earlier in the tournament, so their College World Series stay is done. This is a team that has a lot of talent, though, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them compete for another spot in Omaha this time next year.
