Outstanding debut: Arkansas freshman Isaiah Joe breaks school’s single-season 3-point record

No Razorback has ever shot the three-pointer better than Isaiah Joe. Better good considering he’s just a freshman.

The Fort Smith, Ark., native was the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year coming out of high school before arriving in Fayetteville and he’s certainly lived up to that hype as he made his 104th three-point shot of the season Wednesday night against Vanderbilt. The school’s previous owner of the record was Scotty Thurman with 103.

For the season, Joe has taken a total of 242 three-point shots, giving him a successful conversion rate of 43% thus far in the season. He’s averaging 14 points, just over two rebounds and nearly two assistants per game for the Razorbacks during his debut season.

He’ll have at least two more games to add to his total as the Razorbacks close out the regular season Saturday against Alabama before the start of the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
