Kenny Hill denies throat slash, says it was sign language for 'rising kings'
According to a report from FOX Sports, the supposed throat slash TCU Kenny Hill gave against Arkansas last Saturday wasn’t in fact a throat slash.
Clarification from @TCUCohen: #TCU Kenny Hill didn't make a throat slash but did the sign language for rising kings. pic.twitter.com/OnuAXfzre4

TCU staffers say the hand gesture was completely misinterpreted. Hill was giving the sign for ‘rising kings.’ Hill offered this gesture after scoring a TD late in the contest. He drew an unsportsmanlike penalty — which ultimately gave Arkansas good field position for the eventual game-tying score.
When looking at the footage, it appears as if Hill moved his hand down in a diagonal motion — which illustrates the sash a king may (or may not) wear.
This video demonstrates the proper signing for the phrase.
If this is true, then you should still be smart enough to know that it looks like a throat slash which is a penalty in every sport at the college level.
Either way it should be penalized. Also, he didn’t do it just once, he did it twice, The second time it was called. So I admit there should be consistency with the officiating, unless they warned him not to do it again.
You are just saying that because Arkansa finally won an ok game early on a bad penalty. I never thought it looked like a throat slash and the rising king sign goes with Kenny after he self appointed a nickname on himself after one game.
Well, I did the rising King to the TV after Arkansas won the game.
lol. more like sinking idiot.
He needs to hook up with Jamis Winston and compare excuses, Maybe it is a king thing whatever that is if it is it is something he discover that looks like a throat slash not because he is some mid evil history major..the guy is a punk and always will be. Talented yes but, a punk nonetheless..just like Winston
Don’t compare him to a rapist Kenny just has a drinking problem.
Mid evil?! Really?! Mid evil?!!!
Geez…it’s medieval, which is an era in human history!
Not mid evil, like you’re talking about some kind of middle of the road mean dude that does somewhat evils things to puppies.
Jackwagon.
Could have been spell check on the fly, or autocorrect. Anyway, why get so worked up about it? Priorities, man!
I believe him, but it is so close to a throat slashing movement in real time, you got to know you will get flagged. I am guessing he won’t do it again.
His teammate thought he shouldn’t be doing it; he tried to get him off the field. In any event, it could have been called a penalty either as gesturing a throat slash or for drawing attention to himself by anointing himself King. Remember McFadden being called for drawing attention to himself when he did that muscle-flexing gesture after a touchdown?
I think the game would’ve played out the same, with or without the call, anyway
Coaches just making excuses (weak) for not benching the idiot next game.
“Yeah…. OK; Hill didn’t make a slashing movement and didn’t deserve a penalty.
half a million TV fans just ‘mis-read’ his mis-guided hand gesture.
Maybe they understand that kind of hand language in the BIG 10
GO HOGS GO/SEC SEC SEC
Big 12, but yeah I agree.
Looking at the video it does appear to be that, but why take the risk in the first place. Does he expect the refs to be fluent in sign language? Many of them can barely recognize holding.
LMFAO. Exactly.
If this is true, I really don’t get the vicious facial expression to go along with his expression of his religion. Jesus is Risen may have been the intended sign, but the throat slash sure went with his countenance,
So much ado about just being stupid. Penalties are all basically subjective. In a close game you decide to take a chance that a ref will understand all the nuances of sign language (I sure don’t, and most people I know sure don’t) and do something that looks exactly like an offensive gesture. Bottom line, Hill wanted to draw attention to himself, and he did. I’m someone could find some sign language gesture where a raised middle finger means “hope you have a sexual encounter soon.” Oh, wait………
Last thought, the TCU fans deserved their team getting a penalty anyway, the booing of an obviously injured player all the way to the locker room was disgusting. So, to Kenny Hill, Karma is a bit@ch.
If the TCU fans had any knowledge at all they would have been cheering that one of our best players was going to have to sit out. Twice they showed no class, I’m sure the next game the whole student body will be doing the throat slash showing how much class they have also. Good post OldArmy.
We had their # anyway…..but if Kenny is at fault for the loss……..that just tickles the heck out of me !
Why not just hand the ball to the ref after the score and pretend you been there before…..
Everyone acts as though that 15 yard penalty assured the Hogs of a win. After the penalized kickoff the Hogs took the ball down the field 64 yards on 4 plays. In something like 69 seconds. The penalty didn’t hurt the Hogs for sure. But I don’t think it was the reason TCUs defense played like absolute garbage on the ensuing drive. Hogs win with or without the throat slash (rising king). Game Over!
