Kirk Herbstreit discussed the host of 3- and 4- loss teams in the College Football Playoff top 25 on Tuesday. At No. 21, Arkansas is among one of them.

Sam Pittman’s team has 2 regular season games left: at No. 2 Alabama on Nov. 20 before the Battle Line Rivalry vs. Missouri in Fayetteville on Nov. 26. It’s been an impressive turnaround for a Razorbacks team that won a combined 7 games in the previous 3 seasons, including a 20-game SEC losing streak that started in Oct. 2017 and ended in Oct. 2020.

The Razorbacks have a very strong chance at a 9-win season, something the program hasn’t achieved since 2011, when a Bobby Petrino-coached team went 11-2 and won the Cotton Bowl. They could also finish with a non-losing SEC record since going 5-3 in-conference in 2015.

While the upper-echelon teams will get much of the attention, Herbstreit has a message for teams like Arkansas.

“I know we focus on the top four, five or six [but] I just love to see these teams with 3, 4 losses not lose their way,” he said on ESPN. “Continue to battle, continue to be rewarded for playing good football.”

The Razorbacks and Crimson Tide kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
