Former Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt recently weighed in on the open head coaching position with the Razorbacks.

Nutt certainly knows a thing or two about Arkansas football after playing and coaching with the Hogs. He played with the Razorbacks from 1976-77 before transferring, but he would later return to coach the team from 1998-2007. Nutt finished with a 75-48 record with the Razorbacks but resigned after the 2007 season. His 75 wins ranks second all-time at Arkansas.

In a recent appearance, Nutt was asked about the possibility of Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn being a target for the position at Arkansas, and he believes Malzahn will be considered by the Razorbacks. Nutt also indicated that he has heard the name of Memphis head coach Mike Norvell mentioned in the process, but it has been quiet lately.

Tide 102.9 shared Nutt’s comments on YouTube:

Arkansas will likely have to wait a little while longer if there are plans to target Malzahn. The Auburn Tigers are getting set to take on Georgia in the SEC Championship and could make the College Football Playoff with a win.
