For the first time since 2009, the Arkansas Razorbacks will be playing on grass at its home stadium in Fayetteville.
After clearing the field and removing the turf and subgrade following UA’s spring game in April, today is the day that new grass starts being installed at Frank Broyles Field in Donald W. Reynolds Stadium. The grass made its way from Memphis on Monday morning and the official Twitter account of the Arkansas football team was following along closely.

It is the fourth surface change in the history of the Fayetteville stadium. The Hogs last played on grass during the 2009 season. The new field is being installed to be ready for Arkansas’ season opener on Aug. 31 when the Razorbacks host Portland State. The team’s practice field is also being switched to grass, as seen below.
