Official buyout figure announced for former Arkansas coach Bret Bielema
When Arkansas fired head coach Bret Bielema following the Razorbacks’ season-ending loss to Mizzou the day after Thanksgiving, we knew he was going to get a hefty buyout.
However, we didn’t know exactly how big that buyout would be, though most speculation had the figure north of $10 million.
On Tuesday, The Razorback Foundation announced the exact figure of Bielema’s remaining buyout, which will be paid over the next three years:
The Razorback Foundation announces Bret Bielema's remaining buyout is $11.935 million paid monthly over three years. Would be offset by future employment.

As a new dad, it appears the former coach will sit out the 2018 season, costing the Hogs more money. However, his days as a coach are far from over.
He’s already reportedly getting offers from NFL teams to become an assistant, so it’ll be interesting to see what his next career move ends up being.
