Arkansas added an intriguing piece to its roster on Saturday with a commitment from former Florida State wide receiver Warren Thompson.

Thompson was a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2018 out of Seffner, Florida (Armwood). Thompson was rated as the No. 28 wide receiver and the No. 157 overall player in the 2018 class. He held offers from the likes of Alabama, Tennessee and Oregon.

Thompson appeared in 6 games in the 2020 season, and made 5 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Thompson signed with the Seminoles in 2018 and redshirted as a freshman. He appeared in 6 games and had 6 catches for 91 yards the following year while Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles was in Tallahassee.

Thompson plans to join the Hogs as a walk-on, Whole Hog Sports reported.

In August, Thompson released a statement on social media expressing concern that he didn’t feel safe within FSU’s football program. Thompson took to social media after that and made a public apology after the news, 247Sports reported. That came after a fall out with the coaching staff he originally committed to under Willie Taggart.
