Marcus Miller is entering his 3rd season at Arkansas, and he should see more time in the Razorbacks’ defensive tackle rotation in 2022. However, his progress has been hampered by a knee injury, and on Thursday, a team spokesperson revealed that Miller had undergone a procedure to clean out his knee and would miss the remainder of the preseason.

While meeting with the media following practice on Thursday, Pittman updated the status of the redshirt junior, discussing a timetable for his return ahead of the season opener against Cincinnati on Sep. 3.

“He works so hard and he was doing well, but I believe that he’ll be back no later than when school starts, so I think he’ll still have 2 weeks before the Cincinnati game to have a little cleanout in his knee and that was it,” he said.

Pittman remarked that Miller has had a “good 3 or 4 days” in practice and that the surgery went well, while stating that Miller has had a “good attitude”.

“I anticipate him being back probably first day of school,” he added.
