There are several exciting matchups unfolding across the college football landscape heading into Week 5, and one of those is the contest between Texas A&M and Arkansas.

Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman was asked about if he used a revenge angle as motivation going up against the Aggies.

“We would certainly use anything that we think would help us, would motivate us to win,” Pittman said. “And a lot of guys have said, well, you shouldn’t need motivation. You always need as much motivation as you can get. So, we certainly haven’t used that yet, but there’s some things that we certainly could talk about.”

Pittman will be going up against a former Arkansas head coach in Aggies offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, who differs from Pittman in multiple aspects. Pittman obviously assumes the role of the current Arkansas head coach in his fourth season and Petrino goes into the game as the Texas A&M offensive coordinator in his first season at the position with the team.

Pittman is eager to come out on the right side of this one, given some of the struggles Arkansas has had against Texas A&M throughout recent history.

“It’s a series where the game is going to be close,” Pittman said. “Obviously another trophy game, things of that nature. In all honesty, in these close games we’ve come up disappointed more times than not. We’ve got to play with the same amount of passion we had last week, but smarter.”
