Some Arkansas fans might not be too pleased with their team’s performance against Louisiana Tech, but TCU coach Gary Patterson envisions big things for the Razorbacks’ offense, according to a report from 247Sports.

“We didn’t tackle very well; but to be honest with you I just did a poor job of getting them ready to play,” Patterson said Monday on the Big 12 coaches teleconference, referring to his team surrendering 41 points and 461 yards of offense to FCS squad South Dakota State.

“We didn’t tackle well and schematically we didn’t do a good job of lining up to what they did. When you do that you’re not giving your kids a good chance at being successful. Hopefully we’ll do a lot better job as a coaching staff on getting them in position against Arkansas. If not, they’ll have a 1,000 yards and 1,000 points. We’ve got to do a lot better job this week.”

Patterson, of course, is taking a jab at his own players, probably for motivational purposes. Still, such a poor showing against much inferior talent could portend a big day for Arkansas’ offense.
