Arkansas fans have long been waiting for freshman running back Devwah Whaley to show the stuff that made him such a highly coveted recruit.

They got their wish Saturday.

Whaley ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter of No. 20 Arkansas’ 52-10 thrashing of FCS Alcorn State. The former No. 3 running back prospect in the nation last season, per 247Sports composite rankings, finished with 135 yards on just nine carries.

The 5-foot-11, 216-pound had rushed just 24 times for 85 yards before Saturday, serving as the primary backup to Rawleigh Williams III.
