The Arkansas Razorbacks opened the 2018 season with a big 55-20 win over Eastern Illinois at home.

It was the first game of the Chad Morris era, but it was also the first football game of new AD Hunter Yurachek’s Arkansas career.

Speaking before the NWA Touchdown Club meeting on Wednesday, Yurachek shared his thoughts on his debut game at Razorback Stadium, as you can see at the start of the below video, shared on YouTube by WholeHogSports:

“It was unbelievable,” he said. “Just walking out of the Touchdown Club and watching our team come through the chute there with the smoke and seeing 45-50,000 people call the hogs to greet our team, it was electric. I can’t wait until we have an SEC opponent in there. I can’t imagine what it’ll be at that point in time.”

Later in the video, Yurachek discusses his relationship with Morris, saying they are friends first:

“First and foremost, Coach Morris and I have a great friendship,” he said. “We talk on a consistent basis, not necessarily about football. We talk about how his son’s doing in football, how his daughter’s doing at A&M. He has an interest in my kids and we’ve done some things socially together. First and foremost, we’re friends, and because we’ve built that relationship, the professional relationship has benefitted from that.”

The Hogs travel to Colorado State on Saturday night before returning home to host North Texas in Week 3.
