Arkansas has been on such a hot streak getting players to stick around for another season, it’s noteworthy when a player makes the decision to move on from Sam Pittman’s program.

Of course, each individual player has to make their own decision and that’s certainly the case when it comes to defensive lineman, Xavier Kelly.

After seven senior Razorbacks announced they planned to return for another season in Fayetteville in 2021, Kelly has made the opposite decision, he’s off to the NFL. Kelly announced the news on Wednesday.

“Playing with this team, getting to know these guys, and working with these coaching staff has been such a great experience that I will always cherish.”

“I have learned so much during my time here that I will take with me both on and off the field. I would like to thank my coaches for taking me under their wings and pouring into me every day, whether it’s on the field, in the weight room, or just one on one conversations.”

A graduate transfer from Clemson, Kelly played just one season for Arkansas. Kelly finishes his college career with 30 total tackles and 3.5 sacks in four seasons of play.
