The Atlanta Falcons will be going in a different direction at the long snapper position this season.

AL.com’s Mark Inabinett noticed that former Auburn Tiger Josh Harris was listed as released by the Falcons on the NFL’s transaction wire just before the final roster cuts were made. Inabinett notes that Harris was notably the only long snapper on the Falcons roster.

Harris graduated from Auburn after the 2011 season. He joined the Falcons as an undrafted rookie in 2012, playing in 139 regular-season games plus 7 playoff appearances as well.

Harris originally started in high school football as a linebacker at Carrollton High School. He then walked on to Auburn in 2007 and was the Tiger’s long snapper from 2009 to 2011. He was offered a scholarship in 2010.

Throughout his entire NFL career, Harris has missed only five games.
