Auburn lost QB Bo Nix to the Oregon Ducks via the transfer portal this offseason. Now, the Tigers are getting their payback.

On Sunday, the Tigers landed a commitment from a transferring Oregon defensive back.

As you can see below, DJ James — a native of Mobile, Alabama — announced via Twitter on Sunday afternoon that he was committing to Bryan Harsin’s program:

James recorded 46 tackles and 2 interceptions while playing for the Ducks in the 2021 season.

James was a 3-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle. He’ll join a defense led by DC Derek Mason. The Tigers have plenty of openings in the secondary after this season, so we’ll see what sort of role James is able to carve out for himself in 2022.
