Auburn lands commitment from Texas wide receiver Jay Fair

Bryan Harsin’s Auburn program got some good recruiting news on Tuesday. Rockwall-Heath (Texas) wide receiver Jay Fair is the newest Tiger pledge.

Fair revealed his college decision on his Twitter account Tuesday afternoon. Listed at 5-10, 175 pounds, Fair is rated 3-stars, the No. 72 wide receiver, No. 76 Texas product and No. 537 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.

Fair’s 247Sports recruiting profile shows 31 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M. In June, Fair visited AU, UF and TCU. Fair’s profile also notes he competes in track and field, clocking a 23.33-second 200-meter time in 2020.

On the gridiron, Fair is coming off of a 2020 season in which he logged 73 catches for 1,310 yards and 13 touchdowns. Highlights from that season can be viewed below, via Hudl:
