Auburn players didn’t miss an opportunity to troll Alabama after their Iron Bowl of Basketball victory Wednesday night.

In fact, they polished off the same pose Isaiah Bond used after the famous 4th and 31 play that resulted in a touchdown to clinch the Iron Bowl last season.

In a game marred by fouls, Auburn saw Jaylin Williams and Johni Broome dominate in the paint as Williams scored a career-high 26 points, Broome had 24 the Tigers made a school-record 40 free throws in a 99-81 victory. It lifted Auburn into a tie atop the SEC standings.

Auburn’s defense bottled up Alabama’s offense, which came into the game as the country’s top scoring offense, to just 37%. It was a contrast to the first meeting between the rivals when Alabama snapped Auburn’s 11-game winning streak with a 79-75 win in Tuscaloosa.

Auburn built a 14-point lead by halftime and never gave it up, as it made 80% of the 50 free throw attempts.

This decision kept up a trend in the rivalry. Alabama was trying to win its fourth straight in the rivalry, but that’s something neither team has done since 2012.
