Auburn sees transfer OL Percy Lewis return to portal after season with Tigers
Auburn is reportedly set to waive goodbye to offensive lineman Percy Lewis just 1 year after welcoming him to the Plains.
Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBS Sports and 247Sports have learned that the mammoth 6-foot-7, 355-pound offensive tackle is once again entering the transfer portal. If Lewis is indeed headed to the portal, then whoever he plays for in 2025 would be his 3rd school in 3 seasons after he transferred to Auburn from Mississippi State after the 2023 season.
Lewis decided to leave his home state after last season to play at Auburn, but apparently the Sallis, Mississippi, native has decided he would like to finish his collegiate career somewhere else.
Lewis has made a lot of stops along his collegiate journey. He started his college career at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, playing the 2020 and 2021 seasons there before transferring to Mississippi State. Lewis spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons in Starkville before playing the 1 year at Auburn. So, wherever Lewis ends up for the 2025 season will be his 4th school.
Lewis was a major contributor at Auburn early in the 2024 season, starting 5 games at left tackle and playing 308 total snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. But Lewis lost his starting spot permanently after playing just 3 snaps against Missouri on Oct. 19.
The senior would’ve been out of eligibility before the NCAA’s recent ruling that granted seniors who are former JUCO players an extra year of eligibility.
