Bo Nix delivers impressive first half at Penn State, draws praise from fans, media
Bo Nix has had a reputation of struggling on the road throughout his career. But the Auburn quarterback turned in an impressive first half in the “White Out” atmosphere at Penn State on Saturday.
Nix began 10-for-14 passing for 93 yards, and led Auburn on scoring drives of 6 plays and 11 plays. On the second scoring drive, Nix was 4-for-5 passing for 49 yards.
That production was a stark contrast to Nix’ performance earlier in his career.
Nix entered Saturday with 12 games away from Jordan-Hare in 2-plus years as Auburn’s starting quarterback. But he’d never thrown for 300 yards on the road, and his career-high for TD throws is 3, a figure he’s reached just once.
He was 2-6 against ranked opponents, with 7 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on a 53 percent completion percentage.
Penn State scored on a 14-play drive that covered 91 yards with 1:23 remaining to take a 14-10 lead late in the first half.
Here’s a sampling of comments from the first half about Nix:
I’ve been on the Internet too long because I can’t tell if this is for real or trolling https://t.co/BTTxgwgMlz

Bo Nix has made a couple of good back-shoulder throws this quarter. This one for 23 yards to John Samuel Shenker to get Auburn out of the shadow of its own goal posts.
