In the 3 games he’s played at Auburn since the NCAA ruled him eligible, 5-star freshman PG Sharife Cooper has been electric.
However, if there’s one weakness to his game thus far, it’s his 3-point shooting. He’s only connected on 1 of his 16 long-range attempts thus far.
Don’t expect coach Bruce Pearl to rein in the star point guard, though. Ahead of Wednesday night’s game at Arkansas, Pearl said he trusts Cooper to make the right decisions and fire away when he’s open:
Auburn coach Bruce Pearl on Sharife Cooper's 1-for-16 start from 3-point range: "He can shoot it. .. I'll put the ball in his hands and trust him. … If he's open, he better shoot it."

Despite his early success, Cooper could still simply be getting his feet under him. If he starts hitting 3s at a higher rate, watch out.
Can he get things going against Arkansas? Like the first time the 2 teams met, it could quickly turn into a fast-paced track meet.
