Bryan Harsin remains undaunted despite the outside chatter that his Auburn days are numbered, and he shared what inspires him each day.

“There’s a bigger purpose in everything we do. That gets me out of bed every morning,” Harsin said on the SEC coaches media teleconference on Wednesday. “We’re coaching football here and we’re trying to develop a football team and develop people,” Harsin said. “… At the end of the week, we know the result is going to be whatever happens in the game and we want that result to be in our favor. … I have appreciation for the fact that we get to go out there together and compete.”

Harsin and the Tigers travel to Ole Miss this week to try and extend their winning streak in the series, which stands at 6 games.

The Tigers are dealing with a prolonged struggle this season, and the latest is coming off a lopsided loss against Georgia. Now the Tigers (3-3, 1-2 SEC) opened as 13.5-point underdogs against the Rebels (6-0, 2-0). The last time Auburn met Ole Miss as a two-score underdog was in 2001. However, it’s also the third straight week Auburn is an underdog, according to oddsmakers.
