Former Auburn and NBA superstar Charles Barkley called into TNT and told the network’s Ernie Johnson that he has been advised to self-quarantine during an ongoing illness.

Yesterday, actor Tom Hanks announced that he and his wife, Rita Wilson, have tested positive for the coronavirus, and now, Barkley, another well-known celebrity, has been advised by doctors to self-quarantine after an illness.

“Well, Ernie, I spent part of the week in New York City,” Barkley said. “When I got to Atlanta yesterday, I wasn’t feeling well, and I talked to a couple people at Turner (Sports) and a couple doctors and they told me to self-quarantine for the next 48 hours.

“So, I started yesterday. This is my second day. I haven’t been feeling great, and they didn’t want me to take any chances.”

Barkley later admitted that he had been tested for the virus.

“I went and took the coronavirus test late this afternoon. I have not gotten the results back. So, I’m just kind of limbo right now. I’m really hoping it was just a bug.”
