Auburn Iron Bowl legend Chris Davis is getting into coaching following his professional playing career.

The Kick Six hero will be joining Pinson Valley’s coaching staff, the school announced Tuesday evening. He’ll coach the cornerbacks. Pinson Valley just happens to be where the nation’s No. 1 cornerback, Ga’Quincy McKinstry, plays his high school ball, and he’s considering Auburn, Alabama and LSU. One has to think that helps Auburn.

The team’s formal announcement:

Davis, a Birmingham native, racked up nearly 200 career tackles at Auburn, including 25 pass breakups. However, Auburn football will rarely be mentioned without talking about Davis’ legendary 109-yard missed field goal return to beat Alabama in the 2013 Iron Bowl. It changed his life.

Following his career at Auburn, Davis played 3 NFL seasons with San Diego and San Francisco. He then played for the Birmingham Iron in 2019.
