Darron Reed is flipping from LSU to Auburn. The 4-star defensive lineman from Georgia announced the decision on Friday on social media.

Reed is considered by the 247Sports Composite to be the No. 18 prospect from Georgia and the No. 31 defensive lineman in the nation in the Class of 2023.

“BOOM!!!! 1000% committed all recruiting is shut down,” he wrote.

Reed praised the atmosphere during his visit to Auburn for the LSU game as a major factor for his choice.

“I just feel part of the family,” Reed said to On3. “Everybody down there was real. They hold up to what they tell you they’re going to do.”

Reed also expressed praise for the job that interim head coach Cadillac Williams is doing this season, while noting that he’s locked no matter who Auburn hires.

“I love the energy that coach Cadillac brings when he’s out there,” Reed said. “…It’s gonna be strong and positive, regardless of who they bring in.”

Auburn’s Class of 2023 is ranked 51st nationally by 247Sports. Auburn will conclude the regular season on Saturday hoping to become bowl eligible when it travels to take on in-state rival Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
