After a longer than expected wait, D’haquille “Duke” Williams will finally get his chance at starting his NFL career.

The former Auburn Tigers standout receiver signed with the Los Angeles Rams following a recent tryout with the team.

After turning down the NFL after his junior season, Williams returned to school for his senior season and was projected to be a top NFL draft pick coming into last season, however several off-the-field incidents eventually lead to his dismissal from the program.

Williams came to Auburn ranked as the No. 1 ranked JUCO receiver prospect in the nation in 2014 but never quite lived up to that hype.

In his brief Auburn career, Williams posted 57 catches, 877 yards and six touchdowns. Despite his lack of production, his 6-foot-2, 244-pound matched with his massive potential make him an intriguing prospect at the NFL level. Perhaps being teamed with Jared Goff and Todd Gurley in Los Angeles will bring out the best in Williams in the NFL.
