Auburn just got better – with an assist from Tennessee.

Following Jeremy Pruitt’s firing in Knoxville, four-star pass rusher Dylan Brooks had no desire to ever suit up for the Vols and now he won’t have to do that as the Alabama native is officially signed with Auburn after Tennessee released the touted prospect from his National Letter of Intent late last week.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Handley High School standout signed with Tennessee during the Early Signing Period, when Pruitt was still the head coach of the Vols. Following Pruitt’s firing, Brooks fought for the right to pick a new school. After a month, Tennessee granted him that right.

Brooks then quickly turned around and committed to Auburn last week.

The Roanoke, Ala., native is rated as a four-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle, the No. 6 weakside defensive end and the No. 76 overall prospect in the country according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Following his addition to Auburn’s class, Brooks is not the highest-rated prospect to sign with the Tigers in the 2021 recruiting cycle. Brooks just became the fifth four-star prospect to sign with the Tigers in the class.

Auburn was eager to share the news on Tuesday morning.
