ESPN’s FPI has released its projections for all 12 regular-season games on Auburn’s 2023 schedule.

The big news on the Plains is obviously the return of Hugh Freeze to the SEC following 4 seasons at Liberty, a move that Auburn officials hope pays off despite his resignation from Ole Miss in 2017.

Freeze’s debut at Jordan-Hare Stadium will be against UMass, a game where the Tigers are heavily favored. That’s followed by a trip to Cal the following week as a slight underdog before a respite against FCS Samford.

Fast forward to the Iron Bowl on Nov. 25, where the Tigers are projected as a massive underdog against Alabama.

Here are FPI’s game-by-game projections, along with the model’s percentage chance of Auburn winning each game:

  • Sept. 2 vs. UMass — 95.9%
  • Sept. 9 at Cal — 44.6%
  • Sept. 16 vs. Samford — 97.5%
  • Sept. 23 at Texas A&M — 26.6%
  • Sept. 30 vs Georgia — 11.8%
  • Oct. 14 at LSU — 14.4%
  • Oct. 21 vs. Ole Miss — 36.1%
  • Oct. 28 vs. Mississippi State — 54.4%
  • Nov. 4 at Vanderbilt — 66.3%
  • Nov. 11 at Arkansas — 35.5%
  • Nov. 18 vs. New Mexico State — 94.6%
  • Nov. 25 vs. Alabama — 11.1%
