When Auburn hosts Kent State on Saturday night at Jordan-Hare Stadium, it’ll mark the return of a former Tigers quarterback — Woody Barrett.

Barrett started the year as Kent State’s starter, but now his status is up in the air after some early struggles.

Still, according to the Montgomery Advertiser, he’s excited for his return to Auburn this weekend:

“It’s going to be a good time back,” Barrett told the Montgomery Advertiser before the season. “A lot of raw emotions going to be running through my body, but I’m excited for it. I’m ready for it.”

He said he hopes he’s able to show what he can do in front of his old coaches and teammates:

“I want to show how much I developed. Let them know that I’m still fighting, that I didn’t give up despite whatever happened. I just want to go out there and show them that I’m able to compete,” Barrett said.

“Competing and flying around like my hair’s on fire, that’s a feeling I’ve been looking forward to.”

How will Barrett fare against his old squad? Tune in to ESPN2 at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday night to find out.
