Former Auburn RB Shaun Shivers delivered the winning score for Indiana in his first game as a Hoosier.

The transfer running back punched it in with 23 seconds left in the Indiana-Illinois game. With the extra point, the Hoosiers went up 23-20 on the Illini.

Shivers had 15 carries in his first game at Indiana. Bret Bielema’s Illini defense held Shivers to 28 yards on those carries, but he could not be denied on 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line. The Hoosiers held on for the 23-20 win over their Big Ten rival.

Shivers opted to transfer after logging just 14 carries for 87 yards last season at Auburn. In his AU career, Shivers played in 43 games over 4 seasons (2018-21). Shivers rushed 201 times at Auburn, recording 1,020 yards and 8 touchdowns, along with 38 catches for 211 yards and a TD.
