Gary Danielson offers opinion on Hugh Freeze’s plans for play-calling against Georgia

Gary Danielson reported in the open for the “SEC on CBS” game between Georgia and Auburn that Hugh Freeze made a decision on his play-calling approach.
Danielson just before kickoff reported that, “He was disappointed in the play-calling, not one RPO was called a week ago. That’s his baby, the staple. We’re out at practice, he was in total control. He is going to take over the play calling in this game. He still has the same quarterback though. The quarterback play has not been up to the standards to be good enough to win in the SEC.”
Early in the game, Freeze held a play card during all of Auburn’s offensive plays, and he appeared as involved as he’s been all season in the offense.
Earlier in the week, Freeze admitted that he wrestled with the decision, and noted it was more difficult than he imagined in his first season on The Plains.
“I’m very transparent and this is no reflection on Coach (Philip) Montgomery, it’s just it’s a lot harder than I anticipated it being not making the calls on game day offensively and when you’ve done it so long, people told me that would be the case, it’s just didn’t really know it would be this difficult and you miss it a lot.” Freeze said.
Auburn got an early field goal, and then a turnover to setup its 3rd drive on offense.
